The Tumbling E-test(ETDRS based) is a test of visual acuity. The results are based on the logMAR scoring metric - the Line Scoring Method. The corresponding decimal equivalent is also included. For this app, logMAR measures range from -0.2 to 0.70 and the decimal equivalent from 0.2 to 1.58. A decimal score below decimal 1.0 is considered below normal, requiring a test by an optometrist or an ophthalmologist. Less than three correct answers per line of five will end the test. If this is the case for the first line no result is calculated. How to use the app: 1. Have a helper hold the device and swipe the screen in the direction you are pointing. 2. At a distance of 3 metres to the screen, ask your helper to start the test when seated and ready. Take your time. 3. Add a photo of the tested eye(s). 4. Share your result with your optometrist or ophthalmologist.

The BCVA Remote Solution Platform consist of a web dashboard, to manage Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) process, and a mobile application to collect data directly on the field. Both components are synergized to provide a remote solution for BCVA service certification needs. Site staff and clinicians use this platform for administering training and certification to experienced clinicians who perform BCVA (refraction and visual acuity) procedures by utilizing a stepwise ETDRS training protocol and to assess the examination lanes for complete equipment and accurate lane configurations. The web dashboard allows management of certification activities at the site level and permits the Certification Officer to actively evaluate completed certification tasks or activities by BCVA examiner and view and evaluate video assessments of examination lanes as completed by Site Coordinator. The key features of web dashboard allow certification requests management; ETDRS lane equipment management and BCVA examiner training management. The key features of the mobile App include an Examiner Certification workflow (EC workflow) and a Lane Certification workflow (LC workflow). The EC workflow includes ETDRS training protocol documents, training video and BCVA examiner evaluation or quiz while the LC workflow includes equipment verification, lane distance and light verifications. This convenient and easy semi-automated method of lane certification ensures a more consistent and standardized process, and the real time remote feedback mechanism guarantees accurate measurements. The examiner certification experience using this combined web dashboard and mobile application elevates examiner proficiency through continuous monitoring. The overall benefits of the system are time efficiency, accuracy improvement, cost-effectiveness, and enhanced subject/patient outcomes.
