Neon Swim changes how swim coaches plan and run practices. Instead of rewriting the same workout for different groups, clocks, and formats, Neon Swim lets you write your workout once and run it everywhere your team needs it. From paper to pace clocks to big screens, Neon Swim turns one workout into a complete training system. WRITE ONCE Build Smarter Workouts Faster Create workouts in minutes with an intuitive builder designed for real coaching workflows. Define distances, reps, intervals, strokes, and notes with precision, then take it further with powerful grouping tools no other swim app offers. Interval Groups Customize a single set for up to six different interval groups at the same time. Faster swimmers, slower swimmers, and different send offs are all handled cleanly in one workout without duplication. Subgroups Write one practice that serves multiple training focuses at once. Sprinters, distance swimmers, stroke groups, or any custom category can all follow tailored instructions within the same workout. RUN EVERYWHERE Print What You Need When it is time to hit the pool deck, print exactly what works for you. • Individual interval group sheets • Subgroup specific workouts • A master coach copy with everything on one page One workout. Every version. Zero rework. Control Pace Clocks From Your Phone Use your phone to run one or more Neon Pace Clocks directly from the workout you already wrote. Start intervals, track reps, and manage timing without juggling papers or devices. CAST IT BIG WITH NEONCAST Put the Workout Where Swimmers Look NeonCast projects your pace clock onto a TV or LED video board so swimmers always know what rep and round they are on, what they are doing, and when the next send off is coming. You can cast up to four total clocks, hardware or virtual, to a single display. NO HARDWARE REQUIRED Virtual Neon Pace Clock If you do not have a physical Neon Pace Clock or need additional clocks, create Virtual Neon Pace Clocks directly in the app. You get all the benefits including send off sounds, rep and round tracking, and full NeonCast support. Run your entire practice digitally with no wall mounted hardware required. APPLE WATCH READY Take control from your wrist. Start and manage one or multiple pace clocks, monitor workout progress in real time, and stay focused on coaching instead of your phone. WHY COACHES CHOOSE NEON SWIM • One workout that runs everywhere • Interval groups and subgroups in a single practice • Phone, watch, pace clock, and big screen all in sync • Built for real practices with a fast, coach first design Neon Swim is more than a workout builder. It is the most complete training system in swimming. Write once. Run everywhere. Coach better. Multiple strategies to reduce your screentime 1. Delay before opening your app: A bit of time before choosing if you need to open your distracting app. You can have the wait time increase each time you open your app. 2. Interrupt your scrolling: Check your distracting apps for short periods of time so you don't get sucked in. 3. Set an app goal and optionally block when you reach your limit. 4. Configurable for different days of the week and time by app. 5. Messages like "Is this important" before opening your app. 6. See your screen time for only your distracting apps. Don't worry about Google Maps bloating up your time. 7. Strict block your apps: Either for time ranges, after a certain number of opens or ScreenTime. 8. Locks on Settings to prevent you from changing your settings when you want to open an app. 9. Breathing and other activities to encourage you not to need to open the app while waiting for it to unlock. 10. Streaks to encourage you not to exceed your limits or override your settings.

Both are free to download. Neon Swim sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and ScreenZen sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
ScreenZen holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScreenZen has 50K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Neon Swim's written reviews are positive against 93% of ScreenZen's.
Neon Swim ships an update monthly, ScreenZen every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on July 9, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
