Wildmate
Read full descriptionHide full description
Wildmate is chess with a deck of curveballs. Every turn you can play one card before your chess move or instead of it. Burn a card from your opponent's hand, freeze a piece in place, swap colors and hands mid-game, draw the perfect combination, or unleash a Wild card that can become anything. Classic chess rules still decide the game: checkmate wins, stalemate draws. But the path to mate is never the same twice. FEATURES • Full chess engine with all standard rules • 10 unique card types woven into every match • Same-device pass-and-play • Nearby multiplayer over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi (no internet needed) • Internet multiplayer through Game Center • Built for iPhone and iPad with Liquid Glass design • Light & dark mode that follows your system • Turkish and English HOW TO PLAY On your turn, optionally play one card and make a chess move. Some cards (Skip, Pass, Reverse, +1, +2, Wild, Mirror) replace your move; others (Burn, Freeze, Draw 2) sit on top of it. Your hand refills to 5 cards at the end of each turn. Run your opponent out of options, then close it out with a clean checkmate. NO ADS, NO TRACKING Wildmate doesn't collect any personal data. Multiplayer is peer-to-peer through Apple's frameworks. No accounts, no analytics, no nonsense. Made with care. Pull up a board, deal a hand, and break the rules.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Wildmate at none against Point Five's 1. Wildmate also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). Point Five's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.
