Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Pet Reminder at free against mimi's freemium. mimi's advantage is ratings volume (6.5K vs 2) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pet Reminder sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and mimi sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
mimi holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: mimi has 6.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Pet Reminder ships an update every 6 weeks, mimi monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
