Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Canon DPP Express at 4.6 against Camera Connect & Control's 3.9. Canon DPP Express also leads on ratings volume (2.9K vs 725). Camera Connect & Control's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (47% vs 17%). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Canon DPP Express sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and Camera Connect & Control sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Canon DPP Express holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.9K and 725 respectively.
