Gordo was a self-confessed “mug” punter who dreamed of living off the punt. He cultivated the respected nous of esteemed pro-punters and lifted himself up by his bootstraps to become a player with a future. His story is a testament to the ethos behind RacingRant. He found that edge in the mounting yard, learning that his study of racehorse form could be neatly complemented by a clever assessment of the horse’s physical condition. Marc was targeted early on as protégé material, firstly by esteemed bookmaker/punter Tom Moore, then rails trailblazer Peter Todd. He sat at the feet of these form gurus, and determined to explore every nuance the racehorse form game had to offer. Marc has been providing his insightful assessments to most of the key players on the Sydney wagering landscape as well as trading upon them himself since 1987.
