Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Scan Now at 4.8 against Wings and Things's 4.0. Scan Now also leads on ratings volume (2K vs 2) and chart position (#48 vs unranked). Wings and Things's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan Now sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.95 per 7 days. Wings and Things asks for nothing beyond the download.
Scan Now holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan Now has 2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
