Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Bear Focus Timer at free against Formation's paid. Formation's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.3) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Bear Focus Timer costs $2.99 and Formation $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Formation holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 155 and 74 respectively.
