XHelper is a fast, private toolkit for the small conversions developers do all day. Paste anything and XHelper recognizes it — a JWT, JSON, a Unix timestamp, a UUID, a URL, a color, a number, or Base64 — and opens the right tool with your input already filled in. ENCODING • Base64 — Encode and decode text and files, with a URL-safe option and image previews for decoded data. • URL — Percent-encode and decode, and see every part of a URL plus its query parameters. • JWT — Decode the header, payload and claims, see when a token expires, and verify HS256, HS384 and HS512 signatures. HASH • MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 for text or files, with optional HMAC. Large files are hashed in chunks. FORMAT • JSON — Pretty-print with 2 spaces, 4 spaces or tabs, minify, sort keys, and get errors with the exact line and column. GENERATE • UUID — Create v4 or time-ordered v7 UUIDs in batches, with uppercase, hyphen and brace options. Inspect any UUID, including the timestamp inside a v7. CONVERT • Epoch — Unix timestamps in seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds to UTC, local time, ISO 8601 and relative dates, and back again. • Number Base — Binary, octal, decimal and hex, including negative numbers. • Color — Hex, RGB and HSL, plus ready-to-paste SwiftUI, UIKit and AppKit code. TEXT • Regex Tester — Live match highlighting, capture groups and flags. • Text Diff — Compare two blocks of text line by line. • Text Tools — camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case and more; sort, reverse and de-duplicate lines; count characters, words, lines and bytes. WORKS EVERYWHERE • Shortcuts, Siri and Spotlight — Encode and decode Base64 and URLs, hash text, format JSON, decode JWTs, generate UUIDs, convert timestamps and change case without opening the app. • Mac Services — Select text in any Mac app and use Services → XHelper to encode, decode, format JSON or change case in place. • A native app for Mac, iPhone and iPad, with a searchable sidebar and keyboard shortcuts on Mac. PRIVATE BY DESIGN XHelper works completely offline. Nothing you paste ever leaves your device, and there's no tracking of any kind.

About Base64 Base64 encoding is used to embed image data in formats such as HTML, CSS, and JSON. Since the image is included directly in the content, the browser does not need to make a separate request to fetch the file. However, Base64-encoded images are larger than standalone image files, and for large images, the encoded string can be quite long. It is recommended to use Base64 primarily for small images and compare the performance of embedded vs. external images. Base64 encoding generates characters from a set that includes Latin letters, numerals, plus, and slash. It is widely used in Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) for email transport encoding. Why Use Base64 Encoding? Base64-encoded images can be embedded in img tags or CSS, reducing load times for small images by eliminating additional HTTP requests.
