Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Jamr App at 4.2 against Bandmates's 2.0. Jamr App also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2). Bandmates's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bandmates sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Jamr App asks for nothing beyond the download.
Jamr App holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Jamr App's written reviews are positive against 60% of Bandmates's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Jamr App ships an update every 4 months, Bandmates every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
