Concrete Evap helps finishers, contractors and inspectors judge the risk of plastic shrinkage cracking before and during a pour. Enter concrete temperature, air temperature, wind speed and humidity – with large +/– buttons or by typing exact values – and the app instantly calculates the surface evaporation rate in lb/ft²/hr or kg/m²/hr with a color-coded risk level: • Low – precautions rarely needed for typical mixes (with a caution for low-bleed and silica-fume mixes) • Moderate – precautions recommended (ACI 305R) • High and Extreme – windbreaks, fogging, covering, or delaying the pour When the rate is too high, the app shows what would bring it under 0.2 lb/ft²/hr: a windbreak target wind speed, a cooler concrete temperature, or the humidity fogging needs to reach. Also included: "How to measure" field guidance, Standard or SI units, dark mode, large-text and VoiceOver support, and the screen stays awake on the job. Rates use the Uno (1998) equation for the ACI 305 evaporation nomograph. Results are an estimate to support field judgment, not a substitute for project specifications. CONCRETE EVAP PLUS (optional subscription) • Current Weather: fill in air temperature, humidity and wind with one tap (Apple Weather) • Pour Forecast: 10-day hourly evaporation rate with the best pour window each day, for your location or any job-site address • No ads Plus is $2.99/month or $19.99/year after a 1-week free trial.
