Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Fontismo at Free against FSNotes's $4.99. Fontismo also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 64%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). FSNotes's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.9) and in-app purchases (none vs 5). On ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Fontismo is free to download; FSNotes costs $4.99 up front. Fontismo sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. FSNotes asks for nothing beyond the download.
FSNotes holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FSNotes has 87 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of FSNotes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Fontismo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
FSNotes ships an update every 3 weeks, Fontismo every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
