Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Heatmapper at 100% against SoccerTrackr's 38%. Heatmapper also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). SoccerTrackr's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (112 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. SoccerTrackr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Heatmapper sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

SoccerTrackr holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SoccerTrackr has 112 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of SoccerTrackr's written reviews are positive against 100% of Heatmapper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

SoccerTrackr ships an update weekly, Heatmapper every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
