Trelleborg manufactures a range of high performance, low density syntactic foam for deep sea buoyancy applications called Eccofloat®. These composite foams provide ultra-low densities by selecting only the highest specification hollow glass microspheres, called Eccospheres®, and combining them within a rigid, high strength resin system. The syntactic foam is typically cast into standard blocks. Oceanographers also depend on syntactic foams to suspend instrumentation in deep ocean studies. For these applications, the syntactic foam is used in either block form or custom molded shapes for installation in manned and unmanned submersibles such as the legendary Alvin and Jason vehicles that were used to discover and explore the Titanic. Download the Eccofloat® app free today. Explore the Deep Ocean with us: > SCAN: Featuring NFC and QR code scanning with full traceability of the parts from manufacturing, service depth and back. > DESIGN: Use our Buoyancy Calculator to calculate uplift and volume based on our ultra-low density composite foams and your desired service depth. >CAPABILITIES: View our Eccofloat® products and services.
Ballasted

Ballasted is a companion for neutral-buoyancy research, guiding you through every step of underwater gravity simulation. Simply enter a subject’s mass and select the target gravity, and the app: 1. Computes segment-wise ballast weights based on anthropometric models 2. Adjusts for material specific gravity to ensure accurate in-water loading 3. Outputs segmented totals for the torso, per-thigh, and per-ankle Ideal for researchers and trainers in neutral buoyancy facilities this tool cuts setup time and helps you focus on testing EVA procedures and equipment under realistic partial-gravity conditions.
