Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: MWPlay at 80% against IPTV Player's 0%. MWPlay also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). IPTV Player's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (20 vs 2). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IPTV Player sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. MWPlay asks for nothing beyond the download.
IPTV Player holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IPTV Player has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of MWPlay's written reviews are positive against 0% of IPTV Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
MWPlay ships an update fortnightly, IPTV Player monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
