Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: RUN interval at none against i's shown. RUN interval also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 43%) and ratings volume (1K vs 1). i's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RUN interval sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and i sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

i holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RUN interval has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of RUN interval's written reviews are positive against 43% of i's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

RUN interval ships an update every 3 months, i every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and August 20, 2026 respectively.
