Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: PlayerKit at 5.0 against iFBAs's 3.8. PlayerKit also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). iFBAs's advantage is ratings volume (100 vs 4). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

PlayerKit holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iFBAs has 100 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of PlayerKit's written reviews are positive against 56% of iFBAs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

PlayerKit ships an update every 3 weeks, iFBAs every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
