Food Additives

Food Additives: E-Numbers reads the ingredient list of packaged food for you: which additives are in it, where they come from, and whether they fit the filter you chose. Every result comes with its reason and its source; where nobody can be sure, it says "depends on the source, ask the manufacturer". BARCODE OR LABEL PHOTO • Scan the barcode; if the product is listed in Open Food Facts, the ingredients appear right away. • If the product isn't listed, take a photo of the label; the text is read on your phone, without internet. You can see the recognised text and correct it. • You can also type the ingredients in by hand. YOUR FILTERS • Halal, vegan, vegetarian, allergens and the additives you want to avoid. • Each result is one of four states: suitable, not suitable, depends on the source (ask the manufacturer), no information. The reason is always visible. • It does not give rulings on halal: it shows the source of an additive (plant, animal, synthetic, depends on the source) and the basis for it. If a product carries halal certification information, it is shown first. ADDITIVE ENCYCLOPEDIA • More than 300 E-numbers: name, function, source, vegan and vegetarian status. • Authorisation status in the EU and Turkey; restrictions in other countries, including the US and the UK, with sources. • The acceptable daily intake (ADI) set by EFSA, with a link to the opinion itself. • The encyclopedia is inside the app and needs no internet connection. A GUIDE THAT SHOWS ITS SOURCES • The information is compiled from EU additive legislation (1333/2008, 231/2012), the Turkish Food Codex (Türk Gıda Kodeksi) and EFSA scientific opinions. • No scores and no guesses; a rule-based assessment with the basis shown on every line. • If you spot a mistake, report it from the additive page with one tap. YOUR PRODUCTS AND HISTORY • Save the products you buy often and keep them with your own note. • When you change your filter, saved products are assessed again. • When you switch phones, export a backup file and restore it. 25 LANGUAGES • Turkish, English and all the official languages of the EU; the label is read in whichever language it is written in. • Three text size options. PRIVACY • No account and no sign-up. Your filters, saved products and history never leave your phone. • The label photo is read on your phone and is not sent anywhere. • A barcode lookup goes directly to Open Food Facts. • Ads in the free version are shown with Google AdMob; your filters and the products you scan are not shared with the ad provider. FREE AND PREMIUM • Barcode and label scanning, the allergen filter and the encyclopedia are always free. • The free version includes 1 profile, 3 unwanted additives and 20 saved products; a small ad appears on the main screens. • Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: family profiles, unlimited unwanted additives and saved products, the full scan history and an ad-free experience. IMPORTANT This app is for information only; it is not a religious ruling, medical advice or nutritional advice. Label and database information can be incomplete or wrong; if you have an allergy or need certainty, check the product's own label and ask the manufacturer.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: RoomOrders Manager at none against Food Additives's 1. RoomOrders Manager also leads on ads (none vs shown). Food Additives's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
