This application enables video head impulse testing (vHIT) using an iPhone. A dedicated fixation device is attached to the iPhone and held in place by the subject biting on the mouthpiece. The 3D design data for this fixation device are available on the developer’s website. The application records eye movements using high-speed video capture and analyzes the recorded video to generate graphs of eye movement. Simultaneously, motion sensor data from the iPhone are acquired and used to generate graphs of head movement. The analysis results can be saved as image files. These saved images can also be attached to and sent via email. This application and fixation device have been used in research studies approved by an institutional ethics committee in Japan. They are intended for research purposes only and must not be used for clinical diagnosis or treatment.

The VertiMobile® app is designed for use with VertiMobile® Eye Movement Recording Goggles, supporting physicians or healthcare practitioners in the diagnosis and monitoring of balance disorders. The app enables users to record, save, and playback video clips of eye movements using a smartphone. By utilizing the VertiMobile® system, users are freed from the need to carry bulky equipment, making it ideal for performing quick gaze tests and BPPV maneuvers, with the added ability to record eye movements.
