About

sSLOPE

Perform quick slope stability analyses on your mobile device. This app uses the simplified Bishop method to calculate the Factor of Safety for soil and rock slopes, supporting various conditions like water tables, external loads, and seismic forces.

Highlights
  • Analyze horizontally layered soil slopes (up to 7 layers)
  • Incorporate water table effects and ponded water
  • Apply vertical external loading
  • Model pseudo-static seismic loads
  • Simulate End Anchored and Soil Nail support
  • Adjust failure surface search limits
  • Utilize Mohr-Coulomb and Hoek-Brown strength criteria
  • Generate and email PDF reports

sSLOPE is designed to perform a quick slope stability analysis on your phone device. sSLOPE is very simple and easy to use. sSLOPE uses the simplified Bishop method (method of slices) to discretize the soil/rock mass and determine the Factor of Safety (FOS). sSLOPE has the following features: • The stability of horizontally layered soil slope (up to maximum 7 layers) can be analyzed using the latest version (i.e. sSLOPE v3.0). • Water Table can be used for calculating pore pressure. The Water Table can also be used to define ponded water above the slope surface. • Vertical external loading (compression distributed pressure) can be easily applied to the upper slope of a model. • Pseudo-static seismic loads can be added to model by defining the seismic load coefficients in the horizontal and/or vertical directions. • The End Anchored and Soil Nail support can be used to model slope reinforcement. • Failure surface search limits can be modified to narrow down the search area to achieve better accuracy. • Both Mohr-Coulomb and Generalized Hoek-Brown strength criterion can be used to assess stability of soil and rock slopes. • The Settings Tab can be used to configure the main analysis parameters for the model, such as Units of Measurement, Project Title and etc. • The brief summary of analysis results and input data will be displayed in the Report Page. The report button, allows user to save the current model’s input and output information into PDF file. The generated report file can be sent out via email.

About

Soil Consolidation

Features

Consolidation tests are performed by applying incremental loads to a soil sample and measuring the deformation response. The results from these tests are used to predict settlements in the field with response to changes in the soil effective stresses. Cons-4 is designed to easily and inexpensively automate existing incremental-loading consolidometer or oedometer apparatuses including traditional dead weight units as well as pneumatic devices. This program automatically acquires deformation rates on one-dimensional oedometer test data during incremental loading of a saturated soil sample. Cons-4 software, together with the GCTS DataCube-C* wireless data acquisition device can simultaneously monitor up to 4 different oedometer tests on your mobile device through Bluetooth connection. Cons-4 provides real-time graphs of all ongoing tests and is also capable to display previous tests. It also performs real-time calculations of the relevant parameters including the end of primary consolidation. By calling your attention on your mobile device that the test is ready for the next load increment, it allows to significantly reduce total testing time while minimizing potential user errors increasing data reliability. Complete PDF test reports including Taylor’s (Root Square) and Casagrande’s (Logarithm) calculations are automatically produced and easily displayed, printed, or e-mailed. Raw data files can also be exported for further analysis or manipulation. *GCTS Testing Systems offers an inexpensive Consolidation Test Upgrade kit that includes the DataCube-C Data Acquisition device together with 4 displacement sensors and mounting hardware that adapts to most commercial consolidation apparatuses.
