The eCMID Accredited Vessel Inspector (AVI) Scheme requires its Inspectors to pursue a programme of Continuous Professional Development, thus enabling them to maintain their knowledge base, standards and competency levels proving to both the scheme managers and those who engage AVIs that they are current in the market place. The Continuous Professional Development programme has been endorsed by IMCA and is a mandatory requirement for Inspectors if they wish to maintain their accreditation. Up-to-date Continuous Professional Development records will be necessary for any Inspector who is seeking to renew their AVI status annually. Continuing Professional Development and the eCMID AVI programme are managed through the Marine Surveying Academy head office team, based in Portchester, UK. AVIs are expected to achieve a minimum of 10 Continuous Professional Development points accrued over a one-year period from the date of their accreditation. After the one-year period is completed the points table will be reset back to zero. A guide on how to earn points and the table can be found at https://bit.ly/2laurV7. If you have a general or specific query about Continuous Professional Development, or the AVI scheme, please contact the Marine Surveying Academy team directly by email at info@marinesurveyingacademy.com.

Running a business means being the planner, the bookkeeper, the marketer and the support desk. Usually alone, and usually with a different app for each one. Bizer puts all of it in a single app, with an AI business partner named Miles who does the work alongside you. Validate an idea, write the plan, track the money, manage customers, run marketing, and get an honest read on how strong the business actually is. MILES, YOUR AI BUSINESS ASSISTANT Ask in plain language and Miles goes and does it. Research a market or a competitor. Work out what to charge. Draft and update your business plan. Write marketing content. Read and search your own files. Turn a vague idea into the next three things to do. Miles remembers your business between conversations, so you are never starting over. Connect a tool and he can work with everything that tool exposes. THE VALO SCORE: YOUR BUSINESS STRENGTH, AS A NUMBER Most owners have a feeling about how the business is doing and no number they trust. The VALO Score is that number: a single 100–500 measure across the four things every business runs on: Viability, Acquisition, Leadership and Operations. It is earned by evidence, not by what you say about yourself, so it tells you where you are genuinely strong and where you are exposed. BUSINESS PLAN AND IDEA VALIDATION Pressure-test an idea before you spend money on it. Then build a real plan: company description, products and services, market analysis, competitive analysis, marketing and sales, organization and operations. It stays alive as the business changes, instead of being written once and filed away. TRACK THE MONEY Connect your bank and see revenue, cash, transactions and goals in one place. Where the money came from, where it went, and whether this month beat last month. MANAGE THE WORK • Projects and multi-step outcomes • Lists, tasks and everything still open • People: every customer and contact you keep • Organizations: vendors, suppliers and partners • Sales: pipeline, deals and where leads came from • Marketing: campaigns, brand and channels GET THINGS DONE Practical tools for the jobs that come up: research a market, build a website, work on SEO, price a job, create graphics, build a small app by describing it, and explore intelligence for your industry and region. LEARN WHEN YOU WANT TO Short lessons, videos, and stories from other owners, in the app, when the question comes up, rather than a course you have to finish. KEEP THE CONVERSATION TOGETHER Message contacts, start threads, create groups, and keep talking where the rest of the work already lives. BUILT FOR THE PERSON RUNNING EVERYTHING Bizer is for owner-operators, self-employed professionals, service businesses and small teams: people handling several roles at once. It does not assume you have staff, an admin, or an afternoon to learn a new system. Questions, or something not working? kelsi@gobizer.com
