Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Universal Cinemas at none against ARY Plus's shown. Universal Cinemas also leads on rating (2.4 vs 2.0) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). ARY Plus's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 31 months) and ratings volume (273 vs 5). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Universal Cinemas holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ARY Plus has 273 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Universal Cinemas's written reviews are positive against 12% of ARY Plus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Universal Cinemas ships an update every 31 months, ARY Plus weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
