Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Selene at 91% against TikTik's 50%. Selene also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (32 vs 1). TikTik's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Selene sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. TikTik asks for nothing beyond the download.
TikTik holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Selene has 32 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of Selene's written reviews are positive against 50% of TikTik's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Selene ships an update every 3 days, TikTik every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
