Bad Coach is motivation in reverse: a satirical challenge app that does not gently cheer you on, but dryly reminds you that excuses do not collect steps. Every day, a new step challenge is waiting for you. Accept the bet, move, score points, keep your streak alive, and unlock achievements. The harder your challenge, the more your result counts. Bad Coach now also includes an Apple Watch companion, so you can keep your daily challenge and progress closer at hand. What you get: - Daily step challenges - Roasts and blunt motivation - Streaks, levels, and achievements - Intensity tiers for your daily goals - Push reminders - Apple Watch companion - Optional sync snapshot with Pro+ Bad Coach reads your steps only if you allow access. The app is not a medical product, fitness program, or health advice. It is a small, rude companion for more movement, discipline, and a bit of self-irony. You can try Bad Coach for 7 days. After that, you can choose free access with ads or an ad-free Pro subscription. Pro+ optionally adds saving and restoring your progress with a sync snapshot. Ad personalization depends on your privacy choices; access to the iOS advertising identifier requires your tracking permission. Steps and health data are never used for advertising. Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Pine at none against Bad Coach's shown. Pine also leads on device support (5 vs 2). Bad Coach's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.6). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
