Give every G D A E string a confident start. Violin Tuner turns a sustained bowed or plucked note into clear pitch guidance: note, octave, frequency and a needle for fine adjustments. Its pitch tracker follows your note through some background noise while avoiding a new reading when sound is too uncertain. Your G D A E strings Violin Tuner pairs microphone pitch detection with recorded reference sounds for standard G, D, A and E tuning. Use the instrument display to keep your open strings in view while you work through them one at a time. - Read the detected note, octave and frequency. - See whether the pitch is sharp or flat. - Tap a string button to hear its reference sound. - Compare the sound by ear and check your adjustment visually. Precision you can see Violin Tuner shows the note, octave and frequency in hertz. Its cent-based needle helps you move from “almost there” to in tune with small, accurate adjustments. When the sound is too uncertain, the detector waits for a clearer note instead of guessing. Get the best of both approaches: follow the needle or tap a recorded reference and tune by ear. Set your reference pitch Choose an A4 reference between 430 and 450 Hz for pitch detection, including 440 and 442 Hz. Violin Tuner remembers this setting so you can return to your chosen reference. The recorded string sounds remain fixed; changing A4 adjusts the tuning calculation, not the audio recordings. Chromatic note detection Switch to chromatic mode to follow notes outside the four standard open strings. Watch the note name and needle while sustaining a clear tone. This can support a pitch check during individual practice without adding a complicated practice routine. Start with a clear sound Allow microphone access and let one bowed or plucked note settle before making another adjustment. For your most accurate reading, let one string ring clearly near the microphone. If surrounding noise drowns out your violin, move closer or find a quieter spot. Violin Tuner gives students, fiddle players and returning musicians a focused way to prepare their strings. Built on tuner experience Our tuner apps have helped millions of users. Violin Tuner brings that experience to a focused violin tuning check.
