Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Institutional Forex Meter at none against FX Calculators's 1. Institutional Forex Meter also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days). FX Calculators's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 11) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FX Calculators sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Institutional Forex Meter asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

FX Calculators holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FX Calculators has 1.3K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of FX Calculators's written reviews are positive against 71% of Institutional Forex Meter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

FX Calculators ships an update every 10 days, Institutional Forex Meter every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
