In the same beauty of simplicity as the DC Open booklet, the DC Open App is an art guide for easy-to-use orientation during DC Open from September 4 to September 6. Providing information about the exhibitions in galleries, museums, instituttions and off-spaces as well as images, texts and customizable maps, the DC Open App puts the simple discovery of Cologne/Düsseldorf’s art scene in your pocket! DC Open stands for Düsseldorf Cologne Open Galleries, a joint opening weekend in both cities, celebrating the tenth anniversary of its founding this year. From September 4 to September 6, fifty-five galleries will show the year’s exhibition highlights. With the start of the art season in the fall 2026 — jointly organized by galleries from Düsseldorf and Cologne — the Rheinland will again become the center for current art events. DC Open is both a weekend for art-lovers as well as an international meeting point for professional art makers. After ten years, the DC Open shows that the Rheinland is stronger than ever: galleries, the traditional, liberal community of art collectors, the diversity and number of major museums and institutions, and lively off-spaces all contribute to the acclaim of this art region.

Birchmere, Anthem, Hirshhorn, National Gallery of Art, Strathmore, 9:30 Club, Wolf Trap, Folger, Renwick, Politics & Prose, Signature… museums, galleries, concerts, bands, plays, nightclubs… there's so much happening it's impossible to keep up. DC Arts Events finds what's on, learns what you like, and makes sure you never miss the show. The app pulls every show, opening, concert, and talk from 140+ venues and organizations across the DC area into one feed, then filters it down to the events worth your time. Not a generic listings dump. Not an algorithm chasing engagement. A feed that actually knows your taste and keeps getting sharper as you use it. You start by telling it what you like. Answer questions, describe your preferences the way you'd tell a friend, pick the neighborhoods you'll actually travel to, and choose the venues you care about. From there, every event you react to tunes the feed further. The more you use it, the better it knows you. What's in it: • Museums and gallery openings • Live music — jazz, classical, indie, experimental • Bands and nightclubs • Theater, comedy, and dance • Film screenings and talks • Nightlife and late-night events • Book readings and author meets • Classes and festivals If it's happening at a DC arts venue or organization, it's here, gathered automatically and updated daily. When you find something worth attending, save it to your calendar with one tap. No copy-pasting, no browser tabs left open, no forgetting. Just show up. DC has one of the best arts scenes in the country. DC Arts Events makes sure you actually experience it. This app will never sell your data, use your personal data for AI training, or do anything with your data that you wouldn't feel comfortable with. All of your preferences are known only to you.
