Mit der App „Virtual Wings“ erlebst du spielerisch die Digitalisierung in der Luftfahrt-Forschung. Wie in der echten Forschung wird ein digitaler Flugzeugentwurf in einem virtuellen Testflug auf seine Eigenschaften überprüft. Das Flugzeugmodell wird mit einem Konfigurator erstellt. Der Testflug ist als Augmented Reality-Tool realisiert und wird als Wettbewerb durchgeführt. “Virtual Wings” besteht aus zwei Modulen. In Modul 1 wählst du verschiedene Komponenten aus und erstellt dein virtuelles Flugzeug. Jedes Modell verfügt über unterschiedliche Flugeigenschaften. In Modul 2 kannst du die Eigenschaften deines Flugzeugs auf einem spielerischen Flug durch einen Parcours testen. Der Highscore am Ende verrät dir, wie schnell du warst und ob du durch eine gute Konfiguration eine Zeitgutschrift erhältst. In der DLR-Forschung werden neue Flugzeug-Typen digital am Rechner entworfen und dann auch in der virtuellen Welt erprobt – lange bevor erste Modelle im Windkanal getestet und die Flugzeuge später gebaut werden. Wichtige Ziele in der Entwicklung: Flugzeuge müssen möglichst treibstoffsparend, leise und damit umweltfreundlich fliegen. Hier kannst du dein Können als Ingenieur und Pilot beweisen!
