Verdict
Control HA App and Sound Amplifier both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Control HA App's written reviews are positive against 34% of Sound Amplifier's. Control HA App also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Sound Amplifier's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
