Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: JackQuest at every 5 days against Castlevania's every 29 months. JackQuest also leads on rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and price ($1.99 vs $2.99). Castlevania's advantage is review sentiment (54% vs 30%) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 39). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Castlevania costs $2.99 and JackQuest $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
JackQuest holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Castlevania has 1.8K ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Castlevania's written reviews are positive against 30% of JackQuest's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Castlevania ships an update every 29 months, JackQuest every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
