Verdict

The call

APE X85 and MHD Flasher both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of APE X85's written reviews are positive against 65% of MHD Flasher's. APE X85 also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). MHD Flasher's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (216 vs 7). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

MHD Flasher holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MHD Flasher has 216 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of APE X85's written reviews are positive against 65% of MHD Flasher's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

APE X85 ships an update every 8 months, MHD Flasher weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
