Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MicroPStat at 5.0 against Piper's 4.4. MicroPStat also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 83%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Piper's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (16 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
