Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: My IPO at 75% against TradeSmith's 25%. My IPO also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks). TradeSmith's advantage is rating (3.6 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (42 vs 7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

TradeSmith holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TradeSmith has 42 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of My IPO's written reviews are positive against 25% of TradeSmith's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

My IPO ships an update every 11 days, TradeSmith every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
