Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Font Maker at 4.1 against Fancy Stylish Fonts's 3.2. Font Maker also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 19) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). Fancy Stylish Fonts's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 28%) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Fancy Stylish Fonts sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Font Maker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Font Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font Maker has 2.1K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Fancy Stylish Fonts's written reviews are positive against 28% of Font Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Fancy Stylish Fonts ships an update every 5 months, Font Maker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
