Dr. Virus is a falling block tile-matching video game in which DR.Virus assumes the role of a doctor, tossing two-colored medical capsules into a medicine bottle representing the playing field. This area is populated by viruses of three colors: red, yellow, and blue, which stay in their starting position until removed, the player manipulates each capsule as it vertically falls 1 unit of space at a time, able to move it left or right and rotate it 90 degrees in either clockwise or counter-clockwise. When four or more capsule halves or viruses of matching color are aligned in vertical or horizontal configurations, they are removed from play. Any remaining capsule halves or whole capsules which are now not supported by a virus or capsule will fall to the bottom of the playing field or until it hits another supported object, and any new 4-in-a-row alignments created from this will also be removed. Features: * All Classic Levels. * Global Leaderboards. * Suitable for all ages. * Now try to get a higher score and share it with your friends! * New levels update every week. * Free to play, play it anywhere anytime. Enjoy!

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Dr.Virus at Free against Bug Bomber's $1.99. Dr.Virus also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 43) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Bug Bomber's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 32%) and chart position (#179 vs unranked). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Dr.Virus is free to download; Bug Bomber costs $1.99 up front. Dr.Virus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Bug Bomber sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Dr.Virus holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dr.Virus has 1.6K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Dr.Virus's written reviews are positive against 70% of Bug Bomber's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Dr.Virus ships an update every 5 weeks, Bug Bomber every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
