Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Polygon ID at 100% against USBC's 62%. Polygon ID also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). USBC's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (281 vs 7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
USBC holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: USBC has 281 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of USBC's written reviews are positive against 100% of Polygon ID's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
USBC ships an update fortnightly, Polygon ID every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
