Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Platinum at none against Gamers's shown. Platinum also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.0 vs 3.6). Gamers's advantage is ratings volume (87 vs 13) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Platinum holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gamers has 87 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 27% of Gamers's written reviews are positive against 50% of Platinum's.
Gamers ships an update every 2 months, Platinum weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
