Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Dice Games at 100% against 5 Second Rule's 45%. Dice Games also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). 5 Second Rule's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

5 Second Rule holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 5 Second Rule has 10K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of 5 Second Rule's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dice Games's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

5 Second Rule ships an update every 3 weeks, Dice Games every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
