RESO.cool… what’s that? RESO.cool is a free mobile app made for you, with you in mind. What does RÉSO stand for? RÉSO is a French acronym for Réseau (Network), Écouter (Listen), Soutenir (Support) and Orienter (Guide). Simply put, RÉSO is a network that listens to you, supports you and guides you when you need it most. So, what does RESO.cool do? It is a playful and stimulating environment where you are invited to fill out a toolbox. Your toolbox is a list of ideas and information that you gather while you are doing well, so that you have answers and strategies at times when nothing is going right. Sometimes, when your feelings get confused, when suffering takes up all the space or when you are facing a great difficulty, thinking of solutions to feel better becomes almost impossible. By keeping your safety plan on your phone, you have access to ideas that help you take action when things aren’t going well. You will find in the app: • Tips on taking care of yourself • Signs and changes to look out for when you are worried about a friend, and who to turn to in order to help them better. • Easy-to-use tools to help you see difficult moments coming, when you don’t feel so good, and know what you can do to feel better. • Easy access to resources available 24/7 to talk to someone, be listened to and chat online, without being judged, with people who understand what you are going through. • Using geolocation, you will be able to find the help resource closest to your location, quickly and simply from your phone. The goal of RESO.cool is to encourage you, by bringing all of this together in one app, to prevent difficult moments and to know what to do to face them without too much hassle. The tool also: • Provides simple and effective teaching material to practitioners in various settings so that the app is always used in the best way possible. • Raises awareness among the people who will be part of your network by directing them to a simple and comprehensive website that informs them about resources, sites to visit, attitudes to adopt, etc. This applies whether they are your friend, parent, significant adult, teacher or counsellor.
