Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: StepBattle at 5.0 against EGYM Team's 3.0. StepBattle also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 58%) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). EGYM Team's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

StepBattle holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0.
