Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: IDV at 4.7 against WebCeph's 4.0. IDV also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 10 months). WebCeph's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 61%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
IDV holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IDV has 550 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of IDV's written reviews are positive against 80% of WebCeph's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
IDV ships an update fortnightly, WebCeph every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
