Recall improves your long term memory by testing you on your flashcards less often when you get them right, and more often when you get them wrong. Recall is based on the psychology of spaced repetition and the Leitner system that says that the harder it is to "recall" a memory, the longer it will last in your memory before you forget it the next time. Recall shows you flashcards at the right time to make recalling the answer more difficult, improving your retention. Features: • Automatically shuffle cards to prevent memorising cards in a particular order. • Attach images to cards. • Review flashcards from back-to-front or front-to-back. • Share decks with friends or students.

Ezikey is two things in one app: a keyboard that types the Ezidi script anywhere on your phone, and a course that teaches you to read and write it from the very first letter. THE KEYBOARD Add it once in iOS Settings and the script is on your globe key in every app — messages, notes, search, anywhere you can type. Hold a key for its related letters. It asks for no special permission and has no internet access at all, so nothing you type can go anywhere. LEARN THE SCRIPT Ten sections, in order, starting at the alphabet and ending in full sentences: • All 42 letters, a handful at a time • Writing rules — vowels, elif, and the borrowed letters • First words, numbers, the body, the world, food and time • Grammar: pronouns, am/are/is, the present tense • Greetings and phrases you would actually use • Home and people, food and clothes, actions and describing words Lessons are short. Thirty XP is a day's practice — enough to hold a streak, small enough to do on a break. A DICTIONARY, NOT JUST A SEARCH BOX 8,700 words to search or simply browse: by letter, by kind of word, or by the forms actually said in Duhok, Sheikhan and Shingal. The spellings taught in the lessons are marked, so the course and the dictionary never contradict each other. Find a word that looks wrong and there is a button to tell us. A WORD A DAY, WHERE YOU WILL SEE IT Put the widget on your Lock Screen or Home Screen and a new word is waiting every time you pick up your phone, with how to say it and what it means. Already know it? Tap the arrow for the next one. You can also have one, five or ten words sent to you a day, at times you choose. KEEP GOING A streak that is honest about the days you missed, a week you can read at a glance, and a leaderboard that starts over every Monday — so it is never too late to be on it. WHAT IT COSTS Nothing. The account is free and takes a moment. There are no purchases, no subscriptions and no ads anywhere in the app. Nothing you do is tracked, and there is no advertising or analytics code in it at all. Your lessons and XP are saved to your account so a new phone picks up where the old one stopped, and that is the only reason there is an account. Made by an Ezidi, for Ezidis.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ezikey at 100% against Recall's 57%. Ezikey also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Recall's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.
