Uses the Credential Identification Number (CIN) printed on the back of the TWIC card and compares it against a List of Canceled CIN Numbers (LCCN) to determine if the card has been canceled. The CIN can be entered via a keypad or the barcode can be scanned via the device's camera. If the CIN is found on the list, the display indicates the card is canceled. If the CIN is not on the list, the operator is prompted to check the expiration date printed on the front of the card. If the card is expired, the display indicates to the operator that it is expired. If it has not expired, the display indicates that the card has not been canceled. There is NO electronic read of the card and NO verification of any data stored in the card is performed.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: TWIC ADVISR at 3.7 against FirstNet Single Sign's 1.3. TWIC ADVISR also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.6). FirstNet Single Sign's advantage is ratings volume (133 vs 9) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 8 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
TWIC ADVISR holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FirstNet Single Sign has 133 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of TWIC ADVISR's written reviews are positive against 2% of FirstNet Single Sign's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
TWIC ADVISR ships an update every 8 months, FirstNet Single Sign every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
