Gamblock helps you pause before opening distracting apps. Pick the apps that keep pulling you back, then complete a short focus challenge when you try to open them. The goal is simple: interrupt autopilot, give your brain a moment to reset, and make screen-time control feel lighter. HOW IT WORKS 1. Choose the apps you want to spend less time in — social, video, news, or anything else that pulls you back. 2. When you try to open one of them, Gamblock adds a short pause. 3. Complete a quick focus challenge to continue, or take the pause as a chance to step away. FOCUS CHALLENGES Gamblock includes fast, lightweight challenges designed to interrupt habit loops without feeling like punishment: • Math Sprint — solve quick arithmetic prompts. • Mini Sudoku — complete a small logic puzzle. • Stoplight — wait for the right moment before tapping. • Capital Quiz — answer a quick geography question. More focus challenges are planned. WHY IT WORKS Most blockers rely on frustration. You hit a blocked screen, fight through the urge, then eventually disable the blocker. Gamblock takes a gentler approach. Instead of relying only on willpower, it gives you a small task at the exact moment you reach for a distracting app. That pause can be enough to break the automatic scroll. BUILT TO STAY GENTLE • You control your blocklist. • Add, remove, or pause apps when needed. • Short challenges keep the experience lightweight. • Clear timers show when access or cooldown periods are active. • Simple stats help you see time saved, games played, and sessions avoided. • Thoughtful haptics and animations make the pause feel polished, not punishing. WHO IT'S FOR • Students and professionals trying to reduce impulsive app use. • People who have tried traditional blockers but found them too harsh. • Anyone who wants a more playful way to build better phone habits. • People who want a pause before opening social, video, news, or other distracting apps. PRIVACY-FIRST Gamblock uses Apple Screen Time APIs to manage selected apps. App selections are handled through Apple’s privacy-preserving Screen Time system, and Gamblock does not read the contents of your messages, feeds, browsing, or activity inside other apps.
