Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Rune at 4.7 against E.'s 2.1. Rune also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). E.'s advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 68%). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. E. sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Rune asks for nothing beyond the download.
Rune holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rune has 2.4K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Rune's written reviews are positive against 100% of E.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Rune ships an update every 5 days, E. every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
