Created by Maths teachers, Arc Maths is an award-winning app that helps you remember the crucial skills you need to succeed at Maths. It covers all the maths taught between the ages of 11-16 (including all GCSE topics). PERSONALISED LEARNING - Arc Maths’ clever AI works out what topics you need to practise, so there is no wasting time deciding what to work on. Thanks to new research into how memory works, the AI will choose questions designed to make you improve as quickly as possible. - Our introductory test will find a good starting level for you, but don’t worry if it isn’t perfect... the more questions you answer, the more our AI learns where your strengths and weaknesses lie. - Your path through the topics will be unique and tailored to you. The levels mark your progression through to total GCSE mastery! HANDWRITTEN ANSWERS - Thanks to some brilliant handwriting recognition, answering the questions couldn’t be easier! Simply use a fingertip and the app will interpret it – square roots, fractions, algebra, and more. - The experience is much more engaging thanks to a wide variety of question types. - Answering questions similar in style to an exam will raise your confidence and make you feel more prepared (rather than simply multiple choice.) TRACK YOUR PROGRESS - Your level will show how far through the GCSE content you are... completing level 10 means you should feel very confident on all GCSE topics. - Watch your XP increase with each correct answer, and your streak with each day you complete a session. - A session only takes 10 minutes so it can fit into your busy day. Switch on the notifications to remind yourself to do it daily and build a habit. - More details about your progress and topics answered can be found on our tutor portal. Gunpowder Trail
Read full descriptionHide full description
Discover the dangerous world of gunpowder production as you explore the remains of the Gunpowder Works along the Mellte valley with this bilingual GPS based augmented reality (AR) app. See how parts of the factory once looked with AR; listen to the stories of the people that worked there, discover more about the many varied species that have made this beautiful valley their home and hear from the conservation team who have saved it for future generations to explore. Use the 3D GPS trail map to guide you along the valley. As you visit each danger building, you’ll collect gunpowder tokens; Collect them all and you can try loading and firing your own virtual gunpowder proofing cannon, then find out where your gunpowder might have been used. How to use the app Use the 3D GPS map to guide you along the valley. As you reach a point of interest you will be alerted to explore more. Some points offer an AR view. Follow the instructions in the app to scan the image on the lectern and see what appears. Some points tell you about the nature of the valley, a site of Special Scientific Interest, and what species you might see as you walk the trail. Gunpowder points tell you about the Works themselves, what it was like to work here and how the site has been conserved. Many of the buildings were danger buildings; when you reach those you’ll collect virtual gunpowder tokens. When you have collected them all, you can play the cannon firing game; load the gunpowder, ball and charge and see how far your ball travels along the testing range to discover what grade of powder you have made and where it might have ended up.
