Abierto answers one question: what is open right now on Vieques and Culebra? Opening hours posted online are a guess. A small island business closes early for a family event, opens late after a delivery, or shuts for the season — and no website ever hears about it. Abierto is built so the owner can say so in one message from behind the counter, and so you find out before you drive there. WHAT IT DOES • Open right now — every listing shows its real status, not its posted hours. • The ferry, front and centre — next departures both ways, and a banner when something is cancelled. • Community events — what is happening this week, with a reminder about an hour before anything you say you are going to. • Alerts that matter — ferry cancellations, water outages, emergency notices. Emergencies always get through, even if you have muted everything else. • Works with no signal — the ferry crossing has none and half the island has one bar. Abierto keeps working and tells you how old what you are looking at is, instead of quietly showing you yesterday. • Payment methods — see who takes ATH Móvil, cash, cards, Apple Pay, Venmo or Zelle before you go. • Fully bilingual — English and Spanish, switchable any time. FOR BUSINESS OWNERS Listing your business is free. Update your status from your phone in one word — even by WhatsApp — without opening an app or logging in. Add photos, hours, and what you accept at the counter. Sign in with Face ID instead of a code. Abierto is made on Vieques, for Vieques and Culebra. It is not a directory scraped from somewhere else — every listing is a real place, added by hand or by its owner.
