Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: DVC Connect at 5.0 against AKASO GO's 4.5. DVC Connect also leads on iOS requirement (12.1 vs 15). AKASO GO's advantage is review sentiment (29% vs 0%) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
DVC Connect holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AKASO GO has 15K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of DVC Connect's written reviews are positive against 29% of AKASO GO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
DVC Connect ships an update every 5 months, AKASO GO monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
