Chat, without Big AI. Toyboat is a world-class AI assistant built on open models, with every chat matched by durable carbon removal and fresh water restoration. Skip the AI race, chat privately, and use less water doing it. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Frontier open models in one app: Choose between leading open-weights models like Kimi K3, GLM 5.3, and DeepSeek V4.1 Flash. They rival flagship models across many independent benchmarks. - Voice mode: Talk to Toyboat hands-free and hear answers read back. - Built-in tools: Web search, weather, file and image reading, and a page studio that turns chats into shareable web pages. - Design studio and 3D modeling: Build designs from your design system and reference files, and create 3D models and scenes. - Scheduled tasks: Ask Toyboat to keep an eye on flight prices, news, or a product, or to send you a morning digest. It checks on a schedule and lets you know when something is worth saying. - Custom memories: Toyboat remembers only what you want it to. Import your memories from another AI assistant, or turn memory off completely. - Projects: Upload files, set custom instructions, and keep related conversations together. WHY NO BIG AI - Not in the race: The largest AI companies are racing toward superintelligence faster than anyone can regulate them. Toyboat takes no part in frontier development, and your chats never help train new models. - Public models: Every model we serve is open-weights, meaning its parameters are published and anyone can download and test it. - Private by default: Chats are encrypted in transit and in storage, answered by independent providers with zero data retention, and never shared with Big AI companies. CARBON REMOVAL AND WATER RESTORATION - We fund durable carbon removal through Remove Carbon Today. - We also fund independently verified Water Restoration Certificates from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. They currently support restoring flow in Utah’s Jordan River to the Great Salt Lake, a region in severe long-term drought. THE TOYBOAT DIFFERENCE Most of an AI query’s water footprint is not data center cooling. It is the power grid behind it, which AI companies rarely disclose. That grid also sets your query’s carbon, and water is local: a strained aquifer matters, whatever the global average says. Water-efficient routing: We research energy grids and refuse to use data centers that run on high-water, high-carbon power or sit in drought regions. Every query goes to approved facilities in Northern Europe and Ireland, where cool climates, wind, solar, and seawater-cooled power plants keep water use low. Watch your footprint: In-app dashboards estimate your cumulative water use and carbon emissions and compare them to a typical U.S. AI data center. Honesty about limits: We cannot change how models were trained. What we control is the power, water, and carbon used when you run your queries. Every figure is an estimate from published energy data using our public methodology, not a meter reading. Switching costs nothing. Bring your memories, pick a model, and start cooking.
