Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: PopKernl at 100% against TV Forecast's 59%. PopKernl also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). TV Forecast's advantage is ratings volume (665 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. TV Forecast sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and PopKernl sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
PopKernl holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV Forecast has 665 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 59% of TV Forecast's written reviews are positive against 100% of PopKernl's.
TV Forecast ships an update every 3 weeks, PopKernl every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
